burro wash is a good trail. mostly graded road except for a stretch of wash bottom and the last pitch can be kind of rocky pushing a 2.5 rateing depending on what the rain has done to it. also there are 2 places you need to watch out for or you'll waste time doubleing back. it's a run to the river, have lunch, then back the way you came. a real good chance to see desert big horn sheep as they use that canyon to get to water.
after coming down the big hill you want to turn left into the wash rather then continue to follow the power lines. then after several miles in the wash you need to take the graded road to the right up and over the ridge with the powerlines again. if not you'll come to a nasty waterfall that's pretty much level 5 stuff. once you're on the other side of the ridge you'll hit the little canyon that should rate a 2.5, at least it was the last time i was down there in 2006. the rocky stuff is short then you're back in the wash bottom to the water. keep your eyes open for the sheep, i've seen them at the top, in the wash, and at the water. y old gps track shows from the railroad pass casino to the water and back to bouder city it's about 35 miles total. 8)

I really want to make that run when it starts getting hot. Pack up the smokey joe and some beach chairs and make a day of it. Maybe even pull an overnighter and camp on the shore.

Can't make it Tuesday though. :( Work owns me!

nice, thanks guys for the tips and pics. and man that waterfall in the video looks sick, Ill have to make sure NOT to try it lol.

Im sure we will run it again in the summer (Ill try to give more notice). Hopefully some more people will be able to make it tomorrow, but as of now its just me in the jeep, and my bro in his FJ. I also posted this on the 702FJcrew site to see if any of them would like to come.

man, it was tons of fun. It was me in my rubicon, my bro in his FJ, and Mike in his rubicon that went. there were a few tougher spots, but nothing my stock rubicon coudnt do. I scraped my stock rear tow hook once on the way down to the river but thats it. we had a nice lunch down at the river, and the dogs were playing around in the water. unfortunately, we didnt see any bighorn sheep this trip though. Ill try to get some pics up in a bit

EDIT: while putting on my new bumper today, I noticed a big 'ol dent in the gas tank skid.. guess thats what hit on the way down lol.
