I have never been to the dunes, anything cool to see out there or to explore?
I always think of it as a place to go blast ATVs but have been told there is a lot more out there and some of the trails go prety far out in the desert.

A downside to that is that neckcar is in town so the spedway might be packed and thusly the roads out to the dunes similarly overcrowded.

I was thinking cottonwood canyon its just off blue diamond hwy basically 5.5 mi west of 159 & 160 junction

its defined by the second map in the above post.

Thats right I forgot about NASCAR. The dunes would be a bad idea.

Cotttonwood canyon sounds good.

Where and when are we meeting?

Can you emial me the GPS track? If so I can turn it into a route.

Meet at 9:30 Roll at 10am
Blue Diamond Travel Center
159 (AKA Red Rock Loop) and 160 (Blue Diamond)
Thata a McDonalds right? I like breakfast at McDonalds.

No GPS track? So I'm guessing the picture you posted with the track is someone elses then.

It looks like just us.
Any idea on trail rating and time to complete?

See you in the AM

Mike and Elisabeth

anyway I'll be at 159 & 160 by 9:30 AM.

Looks pretty safe mostly established trails and some powerline roads

I've spent some time with google maps and I'm pretty confident with the route.

there are many graded gravel and even paved roads in that area to bail out too if things get mixed up.
