'Tis the season for our trek to see fireworks. Not really sure how the fireworks will look this year. They are suppose to shoot them off from the top of the parking garages. :?

There is no better way to celebrate ringing in the new year than to be with good friends and off-roading. 8)

Meet @ 9:30pm
Roll @ 10PM
Meeting Place: Shell gas station corner of Hwy 160 & Rainbow.
Trail Rating: 1.5

That is a closely guarded secret. In the past, it has been one of the best views of the whole strip.

I second Tammy's question !! I watched on TV and was very disapointed... Everyone I had in the cab today said that they couldn't see the fireworks,, just 'heard' them !!! I think this was a sad idea !! All the "jumps" were a big hit,, but kinda lame... Is this what 'Vegas is coming too ??? The "Party" downtown at the Fremont Street Experience seemed like the place to be... Lot's of live bands and mayor Goodman making the rounds... Only problem,,, toooooo mannyy people !!!!!!! Literally,, elbow to elbow !!! That's not for me.... Oh well,,, any luck from the ridge ?? Phil

Thanks to those who braved the cold to come out. Actually, it was probably the best weather we have had. The fireworks were not quite as good as they were from the rooftops, but they were still interesting. Even if there were no fireworks, there is no better way to ring in the new year than being with good friends.

I actually got off work early enough to go, but not early enough to see this post and meet up with everyone....cuz I don't know where the trail is, since I usually wind up waiting on the 2 nerds that just HAVE to stay till 4 minutes till closing.

phooey.

Well, you can thank the Monte Carlo fire for changing the location of the fireworks being shot off. There are a lot of new fire codes because of that day.

Both of us have been recovering from colds and work, so we stayed home. We did watch on tv and we could hear the distant rumble. Sounds like we had the best seats in town.
