How did things ever turn out with that Jeep with the broken pulley?

BTW, I made it to 4Wheel on Sunset just five minutes before they closed and promptly picked up a hitch mount clevis and 30,000 lb tow strap. No more feeling useless in a potential towing situation.

Cool. You can see the water line in the rocks, much lower water level last time you went.

Why is this? I notice that date of you last trip was in November. Is the river being flushed to provide water for the downstream farmers? I've heard their needs control water release more than any other factor.

actually the government released a bunch of extra water from the dam that creates lake powell in order to flush sediments out of the river as it flows thru the grand canyon. so there is more water on this end of the canyon. nice but short lived. 8)
