Anyone up for a challenge? 5-4-08

Sleeping Princess on 68 in between Kingman AZ and Bullhead City. I'm planning on camping on the river Sat. night in Bullhead or Laughlin.

Preview: Rock challenges and thrills will delight the most ardent four-wheeler. There’s a great place to stop for lunch just below the summit. The northeast-side descent includes a functioning windmill, ruins of an old homestead complete with a hard-to-find waterfall, and the Wayfarer’s Inn. Watch carefully for bighorn sheep. If you stack rocks to get over obstacles, make sure to remove them when you are done. This is a nasty, dangerous trail that should be driven with at least two other vehicles. Besides an array of challenging rock obstacles, the road climbs over 2,000 feet through the heart of the Black Mountains. Much of the road is loose, steep gravel. One spot, along the edge of a narrow shelf, requires a sharp inside turn. As your vehicle rounds the bend, your rear outside tire drops into a gravelly low spot. Power must be applied at just the right time to reduce the possibility of going over the edge. Recently a new loop, dubbed the Bob Miller Extension, has been added to the trail. To start the route, you must get around a 15-ft. vertical wall then drop down a very steep embankment. The descent down the northeast side is relatively easy albeit somewhat long and dusty. Stock, high-clearance vehicles can drive up to the top from this side with little difficulty.

This is rated a 4 so expect body damage and possible rollovers. Meet at 0800 Terrible Herbst Gas station 2010 S Casino Dr, Laughlin, NV 89029 roll at 0830 CB Ch. 4 I plan on camping Sat. night in Laughlin at Davis Camp if anyone wants to join me.

Yea it's in the Guide to AZ backcountry & 4-wheel drive trails book and they rate it a 4. I spoke to some people who have ran it and they say it is a good trail but challenging. Hopefully I can get some interest. I have it posted on a few more web sites.

That looks like an awesome trail with fantastic scenery. The trail don't look very hard, but it does appear to need some good clearanced rigs to get through it without beating the bottom up too badly.

I'd sure love to go, but not until I get a few things worked out on my Jeep. :(

If you run it, can you track it on the gps and send me the track?

Did you end up going? Sounds like a trail that will be fun to run in the future. I couldn't make it, my Jeep is down right now. Have to replace the rear main seal. Poor thing is torn down, I just have to find the time to put it back together.

Yea Al I made it. Two others from the Walapai Four Wheelers also went. It was old iron all the way. Not a coil spring to be seen. I only have a few pics. I think the other photo link I posted was of another trail because it didn't look anything like it. It was a tough trail. Strap came out at least three times. We were all hung up at least twice. Check out my pics here:

the trail I believe is only a 3.5. the pics are some extra credits you can take. there's one hard spot on the trail it self. that leaves a nice dent in the passenger rocker panel if not careful. some loss up hill climbs. great run should put it on the to do list.
