The wife and I spent 4 days up at the campground last week.
The road from Corn Creek up was rather rough up to Peekaboo Canyon. From there to the campground, there are some rather severe ruts from people driving when it was still melting and had turned to mud (guilty)
The campground seems to be in good shape, (the group campground restroom needs a snake for the urinal, since it's been trying to overflow)
The road down from the campground to Hiway 93 is in relatively good shape, as always a bit rougher once you get past the Wildlife Refuge sign.
Finally, be aware of the step up onto the pavement at the connection to Hiway 93.
It was an unexpected six inch or so step up while I was trying to get moving in front of the oncoming semi.
Overall, the trail is looking good, but could use a grading. Not too much trash (we packed out all we found at the campsite).
The actual Mormon Well is in poor condition. The hike in is overgrown at the top, causing us to have to break trail through weeds and brush.
The corral is in relatively good condition, but there was no water in evidence in the area. Lots of broken plastic piping though. A couple of fire pits as well as an old can dump were the only real evidence of humans to be found.
Of course, Sawmill Canyon has been closed to vehicles, but we drove up to the gates anyway just so my GPS would have the locations of the gates marked.
It was a worthwhile week for us, only saw one car per day, and had a couple hike through camp one afternoon.
I'm sorry I won't be able to go at that time, I don't get off work till noon
Have a good ride, and keep us informed if there is anything that needs to be addressed the next time we get out of town.
