I might pick up some chains Saturday just in case.

Better to have them and not need them....

We got 6-10" on Lee and Kyle last night. I'm sure most everyone heard about Mountain Springs getting closed. That's what happens when you wait till it's too late to start plowing. We almost came close to shutting down Kyle and Lee, but were able to keep it passable. Government planning at it's finest.

More's coming tonight :|

Hi all -
I was hoping to go on the club run on the 19th, but with the caucus, I wasn't able.
I have a pretty much stock 2003 Wrangler (31" tires) and wondering if I can make it as is. I recall doing Wheelers Pass about 4 years go in my stock Kia Sportage - but that was in the Summer.
If not, how much are chains typically and where do I get them.
I hope to be there! (I've got the blue TJ with all the Carolina Panthers stuff on it!).

Issak, your jeep should be fine we have 4 confirmed trucks, between all of us we should be able to get pretty far and maybe all the way…. Pushing a path through the snow and pulling each other out if needed.

Stan is bringing chains, I’m going shopping for some tomorrow just in case. I saw some at 4 wheel parts a couple weeks ago.

On that note;
!Everyone coming please have front and rear tow points and a strap!

If you are planning on coming and have not talked with me please send me a pm.

See ya Sunday,
Mike

Hi all -
I saw a post somewhere that they had a guy near Loosee Rd. that could fix CB radio's. What about installing them? I've had my CB since I've had my jeep and I've still yet to install it. Any thoughts? I'm not as technically inclined to be able to install it myself (or so I believe).

Hi all -
Our day was hosed. We spent almost 4 hours helping a No Fear Titan (yes, he had special No Fear rims!) get unstuck. Really, AFrog did a ton of work and even lost a few cables to the cause. It was a shame and one in which Andrew (not my son, but my son's best friend) didn't feel like he had really been out four wheelin' - so when it was relatively safe we took a turn here and there. Just to check things out.
Afrog and Mike finally lead them all out and on to the main road. Andrew and I caught up to the strangers as they were standing around talking. Well there were a few mud puddles that still had water, so we splashed through those. We took a trail that lead elsewhere - we weren't too concerned about getting lost as it was pretty easy to see the area from where we started. But I did manage to blow my rear passenger tire - side wall blowout. Luckily I didn't notice until we had returned to the "road" and I still had a bit of air.
But that is why you go with people you trust. It was 4pm and the wind was reaching 50mph in gusts and the snow was blowing, and we were in the mud changing a tire. Of course my sidewall repair kit didn't work when I realized my air compressor had blown it's 30amp fuse and a can of fix-a-flat wasn't going to do the trick either. So a hole was dug and a rock was used (for the factory jack) and the Jeep raised.
I went out on Monday and had to wash it twice, buy a new fuse, and I bought something that is supposed to hold my Hi-lift jack. I'll have to get help for that (so I don't need the rock!).
In all it was a decent time - made better with the racing through the muddy water afterwards. I'd like to do the run again - this time with a little snow and no "dweebs" in No Fear Titans!
Be Well.
