Post subject:  Last Night Run of the Year

Tis the season for the LAST night run of the year. JC will be leading us on our annual trek to watch the fireworks.

Date: 12/31
Trail rating: 1
Meeting time: 9:30PM.
Roll: 10:00PM.
Meeting Place: Shell gas station - Blue Diamond & Rainbow. (across the street from McD's/Chevron)

Dress warm, bring your chairs and bring the Hot Chocolate. This is suppose to be the best fireworks that Vegas will have, at least according to the newspaper.

They say that every year. I bet 400,000 drunk tourists do more damage after a canceled firework show than a couple fireworks going astray would.

If they canceled it, you'd see one fat white guy haul his booty out of there quite quick, since I'll be in the middle of it working.

wish I could RSVP, will be working the new years eve and the day after.
The view from the plateau is worth the risk of hypothermia.
Vegas knows how to throw a party, and the locals know how to enjoy.
Away from the Strip and out on a back road.
Enjoy my friends.
May the New Year bring the dreams true that were created this year.

What better way of ringing in the new year by being on the trail watching the fire works. Is anyone else going besides JC and myself???

Elisabeth (GF) and I are talking about going.
Not sure where we are going but Is it possible to park the trucks in such a way that you can watch from the heated inside, or do you have to set outside? brrrr..

I want to apologize for not being around. Have spent most of the past few months in Milwaukee (double brrr) and fly back next weekend.
I will try to start going on runs on my weekends home.

We normally park where you can watch from inside your vehicle. Or you can sit outside and enjoy the company of others. From our lookout, you can see the whole strip up to downtown and beyond.

I can take it (warm clothes) GF doesn't like the cold she say from here in iowa visiting my kids lol.

In case I talk her into it how is the trail? will my stock Tracker 4x4 have enough clearnce, or should we bring the Suburban?

I can hardly wait till the Tracker is lifted/geared and Locked.

Brenda and I should be there. We can bring a patio heater if the trail isn't too rough.

The trail rates maybe a 1 on a scale of 1 - 5. Your Tracker will be able to make it. As far as lifting your Tracker, talk to JC while on the run. He has put a Tracker on 33" tires. Trackenstein is a very capable Tracker. If I remember, it did do the Rubicon trail.
