Thanks Gary. I've had one on almost every jeep I've had. I'm a believer.

I plan on doing one but it will be the redneck style. PVC pipe except for the top hat and the new ford air cleaner box for under the hood. It won't be as smooth flowing as the 600$+ will be however it will cost me under 200$ when all is said and done ;) I'll also route my axle, transmission, and transfer-case vents up into it.

Although I agree, Ive amazingly have had some good success without one on a back-to-back runs.. However, I'll be ordering one from ARB or Safari for a 60 series Land Cruiser because it actually has the closest fit to a 90's Ford Ranger body line and works great.

While I can certainly say Ive seen some well crafted home built snorkel kits, as a word of concern and some experience I'd refrain from running the axle(s), trannie, and transfer case breathers into it mostly to isolate issues away from those components and as a better suggestion as there are several options on the market but this kit worked great for my 93 Ford ranger.

You could get it at 4W Parts for about the same price but pay tax or pay shipping it washes out in the end. Id call ahead to see if they have one in stock. Usually theres enough stuff to do two components but you can buy the plastic hard-line and extra fittings separate too.

You wont need two kits. One kit can do 4 components; Two axles, trans, transfer case.. but you'll need to have them order the extra 25ft line and fittings. The fittings work well because they often just thread right into most components...

I don't know if I am going to be able to attend the June run but def will be ready for July's and or if the group has a show and shine get together at a local spot I'll be happy to show you my setup if you wanted to see one before purchasing.
