May 3, 2008 Fun Run/Planning Run Section 1 and 2 had the heaviest trash. Mostly bottles & cans. We cleaned up on Section 1 and some of 2 then moved on to survey the rest of the trail. Lack of Toilet paper seems to be an ongoing problem at the camp ground. Otherwise the trail is in excellent condition. The flowers were awesome, the Globe Mallow, Desert Sunflower, Desert daffodils, and Desert Paintbrush were in bloom in the burn area in a breathtaking manner. Some Yucca and Joshua were still trying to bloom but most had seed pods already. The Collared Lizards were out but quite sluggish. |
