I currently have a GPS that's fine for hiking, but not in the car, and I have another GPS which is fine for the car (both around town and backroading), but not for hiking. I've found a unit (the Garmin Montana) that should be good for both, but it's pricey. So, I'm seeing if I can get a good price for my two older units, before upgrading. And I thought I'd try here first.

The hiking GPS is the DeLorme Earthmate PN60. I also have a car charger, a wall charger, a suction cup windshield mount, and a slip case. I've had it for less than 5 years. It has the capacity to download satellite imagery (the first GPS which could do this), and that's why I bought it. I will admit, I am not all that impressed with this particular capability. Like many GPS's, there is also a bit of a learning curve to figure it all out, but it does work well, and there is very good online support from DeLorme. On Amazon, it sells new for about $250, without the accessories, which cost about $100.

The car GPS is the Garmin NUVI 660. It's discontinued, but Amazon still sells it new for about $300. It comes with a car charger and a windshield suction cup mount. It contains the standard set of road information, which you can still get updates for. It also comes with a wide variety of voice turn-by-turn options, so for example, if you want to hear the navigation in Italian, you can do that. I also bought topographic maps for it, and these are great for jeeping, although you can't save tracks, just waypoints.

Soooo, any interest?
