This landuse alert to save trails comes to you from Del Albright, Recreation Advocate The 4405 “land-use buggy” races for access at the famed King of the Hammers race. Driver Travis Carpenter asks people to “Pledge per mile made” For the second year in a row, Rock Zombie 4x4 club member Travis Carpenter of the 4405 “land-use” team is racing in the famed King of the Hammers off-road race on February 11th to generate funds for land-use. Held by HammerKing Productions (www.kingofthehammers.com) and billed as the toughest off-road competition in the United States, the King of the Hammers is a mix of desert racing and hardcore rock crawling. The grueling 120 mile long course is split into two laps, and many competitors are not even able to finish the race.
