Have not heard anything about this, so I'm posting it everywhere I can, please feel free to pass it on.

BLM Seeks Public Input on Hell’s Half Acre OHV Trail System Proposal

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely Field Office is asking for public input on a proposal to establish a managed Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trail system in the Hell’s Half Acre area, about 10 miles north of Alamo, Nev. The 45-day public input period closes at 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. A public meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Alamo Ambulance Barn, 10 Airport Road, in Alamo.

The proposed trail system consists of about 80 miles of existing roads and trails on 7,000-plus acres of the public lands in the Hiko Mountain Range. The designated, signed and maintained multiple-loop system would provide OHV enthusiasts, known as “rock-crawlers,â€￾ with a quality recreational experience while providing for public land health by focusing use and stemming proliferation of new roads and trails. The proposal includes public education and outreach, and resource monitoring.

To learn more or provide input, contact Kalem Lenard, BLM Ely Field Office outdoor recreation planner, at (775) 289-1800, or james_lenard@nv.blm.gov.
