It is that time of year again for the annual Freelanders stateline run. I don't know what trail they are going to do. But it should be stock friendly. They will be based out of the Avi Hotel & Casino, just south of Laughlin. I will be trying to make a reservation at the Avi KOA Campground. The following is the info I recieved.

Quote:
Hi everybody, I decided that we needed to make a change this year,
so we are going to the Needles area. The dates for Stateline are
March 23 & 24th. This year we will be staying at the Avi Casino
and Resort north of Needles (thanks! Steve B. for the suggestion).
Here is the link to make reservations for Stateline:
www.avicasino.com. If Avi does not work for you, then Laughlin and
Needles are both close.

I am not sure of the trail section for Saturday, but we will be
leaving from Avi at 8a, and leave the "Train Station" in Needles at
8:30a. On Sunday we will leave the Resort at 9a heading west on the
Mojave Road, then pickup the Heritage Trail into Goffs to visit the
Schoolhouse, then home.

This is planned to be an SUV run, but I have not been on the trails
in the area for many years, so come ready for anything. You will
need to bring your trail gear for your vehicle as well as lunch and
beverages.

We are going to make this one, too. We just got our reservations in at the Avi RV park, also asked to be near Bob and Geno. Won't be able to head down until after work on Fri. as usual. Assuming that dinner Sat nite will be the usual and breakfast on Sun? Should be a fun weekend.

I called Avi Koa over the weekend. Unfortuntely, they do not allow campfires. They do have picnic tables that we should be able to move to our sites. Saturday night dinner and Sunday morning breakfast will be like normal. Geno and I are caravaning down together. If anyone else is interested in traveling together, let me know. 8)

We would like to caravan out too. How far down the 95 after the turn from the 93/95 is Eldorado Rd and is the turn off on the left or right? We should be able to meet up with you there also. Won't pack any firewood :( . We have a 12 x 12 self standing sun shade we can bring if anyone thinks we may need it. Looking forward to another fun weekend.

Eldorado Rd. is approx 2 miles past Nelson turnoff. I think the shoulder is wide enough to pull of on. Geno can probably answer that better than I can. If you want, we can meet up at the turnoff for 95 (bottom of the ramp). I will be on Ch. 4. You can call me Friday for final details. 232-3422 cell. 8)

There is a turn out about two miles past the Nelson turn off. We'll be there and waiting for everyone to get there. It sets on the right side of the road. It is wide enough to get all the RV's in and move out from there. See every one then.
