here's the info regarding the event i got in an e-mail from mickey of NUFWA which he got from darrell of Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers.

Run to help Lola & Ray Brown.
Lola has cancer that is too far along to treat. Her time with us is short. She has missed over (4) weeks of work, Ray has been by her side for the past (2) weeks 24-7. That is a large part of their income missing. The benefit run will be held Sat.June 3rd @ 7:00am (to beat the heat) leave by 7:30am from the Albertsons @ Hollywood & Lake Meade blvd.
The first 1/2 of the trail to the lunch spot is rated (2) stock friendly Note: full-size rigs may get minor desert pinstripe. After lunch a gravel road will take early outs to the main road.
The 2nd 1/2 of the trail is a wash with a few ledges rated (3) ending at the waters edge. Bring shorts if you want to go swimming. It would be a great way to, get cool and wash the dust off.
Bring lunch, plenty of water, hat , sun screen, full tank of gas, cameras, ect. We will be taking a group Photo at lunch, so Lola can see how much she means to all of us.
Thanks to all who are willing to help and show support.
Darrell Wade, Trail Boss Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers.

Hey Al,
Since I belong to Vegas Valley, I will pass along any donations to Lola. You can contact me @ 453-2358, after Monday. I will be at High Desert Round-up this weekend.

I found this on the VV4W site. This is what was posted for Lola's Run.

"First half of the trails is mostly stock 4x4 friendly, second half is optional and will end up down by the lake, probubly 3 rated down the wash or take the road go around and bypass the wash."

Apparently there is a go around to bypass the wash and get to the lake without having to do the wash. That's what I get from his anyway.

So, for those of you who were going to do the first part, but not the second because of the difficulty rating, or not going at all because of the 3 trail rating, you may want to reconsider going. It sounds like a fun day!!! I'll be there!!! and I hope to see you there, too!!! :D

Shirley and I will also be there. I also have donations from some of the club members to pass along.

Remember, this is a run to help somebody who is well known and loved by all in the local 4X4 community.

From what I understand, Vegas Valley will match how ever much in donations are received.

Come on everybody, let's show our support for someone in their time of need.

CJ & I will be there.... Even though it will be an economic bite for my tight budget,,, I can't sit here and do nothing while 4x4 partners are in trouble... And who knows,, maybe the 2nd half of the trail will get me a little closer to NBMC status... See Ya there... Phil

On behalf of Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers, I would like to thank everyone who came out for the run and those who donated to Lola and Ray. Initial totals of donations have reached $4,600. And there is more coming in from people and companies. It is great to see the support for someone in our extended family. :D :D :D

Thank you everybody. 8)

My friend Gina and I had a great time and it was for a great cause. We sure hope it helps Lola and Ray in their time of need.

Personally I had a great time... I wish that more of you had come out to brave the heat,, it was worth it !!! What a silly bunch those 'Total Karnage' people are,, but they do have fun... A "speed bump" to them is a major obsticle to me... I am so proud to have been part of this benefit for Lola & Ray,, my best wishes to them, as they are a very important part of the 4x4 community here in this valley... Here are just a few pix to give you some idea of what you missed.....

I'll probably miss the 6-10 run as I'm planning to visit my buddy Brian in Hemet, CA. this weekend... However, we are trying to get to Ely for the Rally there... My wife Patty even wants to go !!! Imagine that !!! Stay cool..... Phil
