If anyone goes to Redding, CA, take time to go to the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area and take the Shasta-Bally trail. It is only a 1.5 except it is steep. Only takes about 4 hours up and down with photo stops. We had a great time with it. The road is closed in winter, and I would not recommend it if wet.
