I am very interested in doing the Dusy-Ershim Trail late this summer, probably in August.
Map: http://www.everytrail.com/guide/dusy-er ... -trail/map

The Jeep club in the area is: http://www.4wdcfresno.net/ last year I emailed them a few times but got not much response. I believe they do a lot to maintain the trail.

There's some good info out there such as: http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Dusy_/_Ershim_Trail or
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Guide-g14305 ... ornia.html

I believe the trail doesn't usually open until August 1. I have checked with the USFS website http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/sierra/home

Has anyone been there? Would anyone be interested in going next August?

I can tell you that Joanne will not be interested in going. It's 31 or 33 miles long and probably takes 2 to 3 days to run it. I have read that 32" tires and one locker is minimum. Others say 33" and two lockers. Some say only 2 door Jeeps but I have seen photos of 4 door. This would be a judgement call for each to make. I would expect a 4 door stock Jeep to not go unless it's a Rubicon and owner doesn't mind some damage. I would go in a older, 2 door, already damaged Rubi.

All info is welcomed.
Thanks,
Jeff Ballou
