National Trails Day is coming up soon, Sept 26 & 27. Does anyone know who is leading the 4x4 trail? There is a rumor that there might be another slightly more challenging trail, but I am having a hard time finding someone with any info. Any help would be cool! :D

I haven't heard of any harder trails planned. But, the Backroaders are going to clean Mormon Well trail on the 27th.

Are you talking about the delayed one in Henderson? I have some info on it at work, I'll get it home tomorrow and post it; if that's what you're talking about. But to my knowledge, there were no 4x4 trails listed.

Oh, well then that would be me leading. Only one run, Saturday. Rates a solid 2.0 to easy 2.5 depending on how much hunter traffic there is between then and now. It's meant to be stock friendly. The area has been getting hard rains and it has made some the trail a bit rutted in areas. I hadn't posted anything yet as I was unsure how bad the trail was going to be, but I did it again last weekend and it was getting better except for a couple of spots I need to amend.

Clicky the linky ----> http://lincolncountynevada.com/LandsDay/

Also the trail is actually only about 50 miles long, about 15 of it is asphalt. Where they got 80 I don't know, probably from the ATV trail run they ran there the last 2 years.

BTW they really want to hold it Alamo, and might next year. That would be a field day at Area 52 if the BLM ever got their head out of their buttocks. Then we could have hard core and easy together along with all the other stuff they do.

Ok, then you would be the one to know if there was any other run planned. We (Paul & I) are still planning on going, maybe some other Karnage folks too.

On the 15 mile asphalt, is the speed limit 55+? Don't think the Jeep will go that fast... :shock:

It is, but since there's always little traffic, we could go slower if needed.

I have had the option for extra runs in the past on Friday, but SNORE is running their Silver State 300 from Mesquite to Pioche that weekend. As it is, we played hell trying to plan routes to keep us well away from their course. Otherwise I'd know a few places you guys might really like to try out.

Thanks again for coming up guys. Let Tom know I'll try to find a smoother trail for him next year :wink:
