Post subject:  The Ride

Staging idea:

1) Meet and start at the BLM Fire station on Carpenter Canyon road at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 19th.
2) From the start to Wheeler Well (proposed lunch area) is roughly 21 miles.
3) From Wheeler Well to to Wheelers Pass is roughly 6 miles roundtrip.
4) Back down Wheelers Road to Highway 160 south back to the starting point at the BLM Forestation on Carpenter Canyon Road is roughly 22 miles.

Since most of the Forest Service folks will be riding with 4x4 Clubs and members,

Dunes and Trails and Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers would like to handle lunch atWheeler Well by providing a BBQ of roughly the following:

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Potatoe Salad, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans with some sweet goodies of some kind.
Cold soda, Tea and Water.

.

Currently the estimate of participants is as follow:

1) MC riders - unknown but expected to be few
2) ATV riders should be roughly 8
3) 4x4 rigs - unknown ?????????????
4) Forest Service people participating is roughly 15

This is a preliminary plan and we need a count on who`s attending

Please let me know as soon as possible
if you will be attending.

Thanks
Mac

Sounds kinda scary to me.

Is this a trail repair/cleanup project? Are we looking for Bigfoot?

this is a "Meet n Greet" with the US Forrest Service / BLM / US FISH Wild ect

get to know the folks that are in charge of the Spring Mountains

the "Big Foot" is extra entertainment if he shows for the BBQ

Hey Mac, there may not be too may folks attending Saturday. The 19th is the April Club Run to Titus Canyon http://www.nevadabackroaders.com/v-web/ ... php?t=1574 which a lot of the members will probably be attending. I suppose that not all the club members are going and some may be able to attend. I can't speak for them obviously.

Just thought I'd let you know just in case you missed the Club Run post. :)

It sounds like a good idea/opertunity. If I wasn't going on the club run I would be there, maybe even in the Suburban.

Sorry,
Mike

the event time was picked by the USFS consultant...i would have picked
a better time.

keep in mind the groups that want to close roads show up at meetings
and get face to face time with these people.

very important to show up if your not going on the club run
this may be our only chance to be heard and get to know these people.

thanks
mac

If there are any members NOT going on the Club Run, maybe they can show up for The Ride.

Post subject:  The Run - Stock Grand Friendly?

Degree of Difficulty? Stock Grand on 30's friendly?

Inquiring minds want to know.

We were going to help do Communications for the Baker 2 Vegas Challenge Race, but free barbecue's much more fun than watching LE types out-machoing each other across Death Valley.

Besides, you spend one night on Ibex Pass, you're Caught Up for a lifetime. Never need that card punched again.

Post subject:  We're In

Unclebuck and Wendy are in.

Will gov't types be riding with Backroaders or in their own trucks?

Do I need to shovel out the back seat of the ZJ to accommodate one or two of 'em?

Inquiring Minds...well, You Know...
