A week from this Saturday (on the 15th), we are meeting at the Moapa-Paiute Travel Center at 10:30- approximately an hour's drive outside Vegas. This is at i-15 and 169 (exit 75) You can't miss the fireworks store... er, convenience store when you get off the freeway there.

The trailhead is about three miles from the store. The trail itself is 28 miles long and should take a couple of hours.

The scenery on this one is awesome- sort of a mini Valley of Fire, so bring your cameras!! (I'm kicking myself for forgetting mine last time!) Skill-wise, there are a few tricky areas on this trail as well (river-wash with deep gravel/sand, some areas of the trail partially washed when I was last up there about a month ago) but nothing too hazardous for a stock 4x4 vehicle.

Oh, and bring your bathing suits. Some of us will be heading to Eight Mile after we finish the trail to wash off all the dust.

Info about the run, along with a sat-map pic of the meeting point, can be found here: http://jeep.meetup.com/225/calendar/6218912/

If you're interested, sign up and come on down to meet us.

EDIT: Maureen had a moment of confusion regarding which Saturday was the 15th. She is much better now and has edited this post accordingly. Sorry about the confusion.

We are doing Bitter Springs on the 15th of September. That will be a week from this Saturday.

My bad. They say that the mind is the first thing to go...

I'll go! Need to get out there and look around as I will be leading that trail for Hump & Bump this year.

I'm glad that I will have people here who know more of the lore surrounding this trail. Naturally, we will be on channel 4 on the CB, so if there are any special areas that people want to head toward while we are out there, please let me know. A bit more advanced warning would be great if there are some must-see stops that we know people will want for photo ops. ;)

I want to make sure that this run is as enjoyable as possible for ourselves as well as our guests from 'At Your Leisure'.

If, and that's a big if right now, I can get my tires installed by then, I might make it too. Seems they're on the slow truck from Ohio.

Hey, what do ya got against Ohio??? J/K If you think tires are made in Ohio like back in the day, well, they aren't. Akron houses their offices and that's about it. Oh, and the Goodyear Blimp. Humm, the good ole' days....black smoke in the air and soot on everything... :P

I'd like to go but I have too many things to do this weekend. I need to get them done and free up some of my time to go wheelin' another day. :(

Well work decided they did not want me to go wheelin this Saturday.
I have to haul dirt to City Center so I guess that is kinda like wheelin in the dirt.
Sorry I won't be able to make this run. :(

Nothing really. That's just where they told me they were coming from.

Well I did finally get my tires, but it's kind of hard to weld my new mufflers on in the wind so I won't be there this time. Have fun all.

great day.
wheelin with new friends, Dick's Escape is still one of the best reasons for after-market-upgrades, ice cream in Overton and a campfire in Logandale while we BBQ'd some steaks watching the sunset.
Sorry to hear about your clutch Bill, good thing it didn't happen going up the Escape.
We left the Logandale camp before Tammy and company returned from Rock Bottom, but after 9pm i turn into a pumpkin and driving back to Vegas would be too much adventure.
Gotta get a copy of the AYL show. Who ever gets the first DVD, please post.
I canceled cable as i just wasn't watching TV.
my jeep's dash board doesn't have any open space with the GPS, satellite radio and CB.
thanks maureen. will be checking for next run.
with the cooler temps, life is good.
