These are some of the Nevada ghost town and interesting location websites I have discovered over the years.

http://nvghosttowns.topcities.com/index.html One of the most informative sites around. Shawn helped originate the Tonopah Mining Museum and is a wealth of local history. Click on the "ghost town list" on the left to view sites by county. Though he doesn't give directions, you do get a good dose of knowledge as to why it's there. *warning* Has back ground music.

http://www.ghosttowns.com/ The biggest and likely most well known website covering ghost towns, mines and everything else from around the country. At the top, the drop down menus list states and then it is broken down by county. Pictures, some directions and history are offered. The message boards are also a good place to get and share info. I do not endorse anything by the poster with the same log in name as me there though, he's a little weird  *warning* back ground music on pages except for the message boards, and pop up ads that most Anti-spamware can block.

http://www.ripleysghosttowns.com/ Personal site of Cat Evans and her dog Ripley. The write ups are from Ripley's point of view :D Not much for directions, but loads of awesome pics of some places I really would like to see first hand. I wonder if Ripley would point me in the right direction for a Scooby Snack? *warning* has a short, yet loud "hello" when on the home page.

http://www.ghosttownexplorers.org/ghost.htm Website covering Nevada and surrounding California towns and mines. Really good photos and funny commentary.

http://www.cal-neva.com/ghosts/ Another picture specific site with some info. Can be hard to follow sometimes as it seems to have no organization.

http://www.notyourdomain.com/oldwest/nv/index.htm Another picture site, plus some train info.

http://www.robertwynn.com/index.html Personal site of a local G'Towner. Lots of information and pictures of nearby places. *Warning* back ground music.

http://desertislands.org/nevadamap.htm Pictures and directions to different sites in Nevada.

http://www.ghosttowngallery.com/index.html Photos and info.

the Desert islands site doesn't appear to have been updated at all in the last year or so, but I like it quite a bit. Actually had it in my bookmarks for quite awhile now.

I tried contacting one of the mods, but haven't heard anything back yet.

This is the website for the Techatticup Mine Tour in Nelson, NV.

Utah mine locations. Lots of good mining info as well. Also a good source of train info if you're a rail nut. The link is to the mine page, just scroll down to the "Home" tab to get to the directory.

that's an awesome link, Gary.

My dad served 21 year on the Burlington Northern railroad as a mechanic, and LOVES locomotives.

I have some more train links, though mostly of the Northwest on my old PC. I'm trying to find someone that can scavenge the hard drive for me for a decent price so I can get them and some of my pics.

Hey Gary, I know someone who can do that and is relatively inexpensive. Shoot me an email if interested and I'll get you his name and number. He's a friend of mine and he mentioned he did it when he was out here for the SEMA show. :D

Gary,,, neat stuff !! As for you hard drive... I bought a 3.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure, from CompUSA.. (a while back).. I'm sure that they are available from Fry's or somewhere.. Neat little box !! Just take your hard drive out of the old computer, and put it in the box.. Then plug it into the USB 2.0 slot ,,, and you computer will find it and then open a new folder,, then download or move anything you want from that hard drive !! I thought that I'd lost all the stuff from my old one,, but now I have total access to it !!! Check it out !! Phil
