If its the off-shoot I think you're thinking of, Craig, the trail has been closed. One night after a club run through Bitter Springs, me and Amanda were going to go that way. When we got near the big wash, and while in the narrow part of the trail between the tall walls of the wash, there were railroad ties as posts and cable strung across the whole thing. We had to do a 5-point turn around and go back. I did go though Apex once to the Anniversary Mine. It was easy in some parts and a little harder in others...fun all around though.
