I had to replace the left rear axle shaft beacuse it sheared off, but now one replacing the axle i have found it to be the lockers fault. 4 wheel parts replaxed the shaft, and when i went to pick the up the jeep popped the entire way home because the locker is just grinding and ratcheting. Cheapest quote i got to take out the locker and replace it with the stock gear set was 400. 4 wheel parts wants 520 to fix it. any ideas? just put in a used d35?

all info is good info.

not interested in putting in a new locker. jeep is my DD for 130 miles a day. and it looks like im going to keep the jeep built the way it is. decided im going to start work on a truck in a few years.

Not to take anything away from 4 Wheel Parts but for axle work I use Adams Driveshaft. I suggest giving them a call.

ever consider an air or e-locker rather than a detroit or lunchbox type ?

I've heard nothing but good about adams driveshaft although I had Dan's Driveline rebuild the rear diff on my "B" quite a few a few years back.

I just talked to Backcountry yesterday about doing the same thing to my jeep and after price shopping Adams, Dans and a couple others, Backcountry was the best price option.

Adams rebuilt our rear end and added our locker, locker wasn't working right and they replaced it to get it right the next day. They also treated Angie like an offroader not some girl that didn't know anything about 4x4s.
