Post subject:  The Reference List.

Since I have been involved in the fabrication and building of various uh, things, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a listing for people to access, and especially add to when it comes to looking for specialty fabrication items and parts. I thought it'd be one step better to likely include sources for off road parts in general or even for specific vehicles.

So feel free to add to this list any info you feel would be beneficial for others. Whether it be a link to a site, or info on your favorite local shop.

Let me start, though I will be adding tons more later:

Great source for hard to find transmission and transfer case parts, especially for older Jeeps. I got my upgraded Dana 20 parts from them when I rebuilt and twin sticked it. They have some great tech info as well, and pics to go along with it.

Though mainly a racing supplier, they carry numerous parts for street rods and kit cars. A really good source for specialty parts that can carry over like braided and stainless line, fittings and various rods and linkages.

Great source for getting the H4 conversion head lights. He sells mainly the Cibie brand, which is considered one of, if not the best housings available. I used them in my Bronco and have started the updating process in my Scout. One advantage is you can run brighter, more powerful lamps than the standard 55/60 watt since the glass lenses are designed to better filter and displace the light which doesn't cause glare to on coming traffic. Another is you can have a housing get broken, yet still use the headlight, unlike a sealed beam headlamp.

Good source for all things electrical. He has made a basic electrical wiring book that can help anyone with any level of mechanical ability fix old wiring, and create new harness's for off road lighting and other toys. I have spent quite a few dollars with him, as he provides top notch parts and tech help. One issue, he does live in the boonies, so getting a hold of him by phone can be a pain, as he is very, very popular when it comes to tech help. Unless you need it tomorrow, getting to him by mail may be best. But well worth the effort IMO.

Need a gusset for that new cage or a shock mount for that new axle housing? They likely have it or can replicate it for you.
