I bought a LUK clutch kit from Nevada Brake, I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I think all total it cost me around 450.00. But I replaced the flywheel, slave cylinder, and the master cylinder. The kit came with the clutch, pressure plate. pilot bushing, and the throw out bearing / slave cylinder, as well as the alignment tool. I changed everything because I didn't want to tear it down again if I could help it.

Well after the club run I checked it again in the drive as the vibes are getting worse, the pinion is now loose enough to wiggle around. guess it gets a bearing job in the morning.

Well, so far found out that the pinion bearing was shot allowing the pinion to slide back and completely destroy the carrier, spider gears and all the bearings. Pretty close to being passed by the rear end. Glad we made it home.

3.08 gears Even the mechanic was suprized.

Adams Driveshaft is rebuilding the rear end and should be done later this morning. $850 in damage

Good news is the clutch seems to be fine, the rear end was that bad.

They treated Angie really well before I got off work, were honest and willing to explain every detail. I was even allowed to watch the work being done once I got there and they are standing behind it.

In the Final Analysis, I don't think I want to get into 3/4 of a kilobuck just for a minor awl (oil) leak, so I'll keep parking over a small pile of Kitty Litter. I'm still slightly stung from my almost-$2K automatic transmission rebuild in 2006 and, since she cranks every time on the first turn of the key, brakes in a straight line, provides cold air upon demand snd stays in her lane on the highway, I'll just Hold These Cards.

Let the next owner of Henderson World Headquarters ask for $100 off on the sale price of the house for the awl stains. Muy cheaper than axle/diff work by professionals.

This was the first Major repair for this jeep and it does sting. But alas, had no choice. I waited too long. Been getting lots of overtime so perhaps timing wasn't all that bad. See ya on the trail.
