Hey everyone, just found this board. My name is Thomas and i live in Las Vegas, i work as a barber / hairdresser in henderson and in my spare time i like to hunt, fish camp and do anything that takes me off the beaten path. off roading has always been a means to an end for me, but im thinking of taking it up recreationaly to see where it goes.

My rig is a '95 Isuzu trooper 3.2L V6 DOHC, isuzu 12 bolt LSD rear end and a 10 Bolt Front end. custom fabricated roof rack and 2nd spare tire holder.

projects for this year are as follows : Aussie Locker in the front, new front axles ( today ) Manual hubs, 1.5" OME/ARB suspension lift with a 1-2" body lift.
Tranny cooler for towing, new custom fabricated front Wench bumper and matching bumper in the back, second 7" pusher fan on the radiator and after thats all done i will get around to cleaning my engine bay and making everything look nice.

Hope everyone has a great time, hope to see you all on the trails!

Welcome to the board. I think you'll find the backroaders a good fit. Please be sure to read the posts in the Club Info forum to find out what we're about and how we do things.

As long as there are no hooks on the chain. Tow straps, by comparision, are much lighter in weight. A good 20-30 foot tow strap can be reasonably priced. While we do not expect a guest to have everything on the list, we do expect a new Club member to have it within a reasonable time frame.

Straps are preferable to chains because straps are designed to stretch when you are using them to pull out a stuck fellow traveller; the rebound or recoil affect of the strap regaining its original size aids in snatching the other vehicle away from its stuck situation. Chains, on the other hand, do not stretch. Straps will seldom cause damage, chains can and will inflict substantial damage if not used VERY carefully.

I had the unfortunate experience of seeing a man get killed by a chain like that when I was a kid. It snapped and went straight through the back window of the truck and into the back of his head. Game over....quickly.

I bought my straps on eBay from Oconee Offfroad for $16 a piece.
