Hi everyone. Found the club site when looking for information on local Vegas/Nevada trail runs. Have an '04 WJ that's ready for some easy trailing running with the family. Figured what better way to (safely) explore some new locations would be on some group rides. Checking schedules to see if we can make it out for the April run later this month.

Looking through the vehicle requirements I'm good except for the front tow/recovery hooks. Haven't put those on yet as I was still deciding between the aftermarket hooks or an entire new bumper with shackles, but guess I'm going to have to pick one or the other quick!

Welcome to our Message Board. You will find probably the greatest group of people here. Your Grand should be able to make any "official" Club Run. Hope to see you on the trail soon.

p.s. I will e-mail some info on how to join the Club.

welcome to the board. sounds like you allready read the club info forum but it sounds like you may have missed the last bit in rules of the trail so here it is:

Since the Nevada Backroaders is a teaching club we don't expect people new to off roading to have all the equipment listed in Rule 10 the very first time you come out on a run with us. We won't send you home if you show up without any of the gear. We will give you advice on what to get and how to use it and hopefully you'll have all the mandatory equipment within a couple months. Come out and enjoy and ask questions and we'll help you out.

Welcome to the board, Todd. I have a built up Wrangler TJ, but I recently picked up an 04 WJ myself. I took it on the last club run and now having experience with it on the trails...you'll be just fine hanging with us on any of the future Club Runs. The Grands do really nice on the trails. So, plan on coming out on the Titus Canyon Run later this month. You and your family will be glad you did!!!

C'ya on the trail

Thanks! Also received the club information email earlier.

Planning on attending the April 24th run. Not sure yet if we'll head up the night before or just leave Vegas early in the morning. Don't have the Jeep set up for tow or we'd haul it up with our RV.

How long is the run itself?

** EDIT ** Found some info on DesertUsa. Looks like it will be a great scenic trip!

Scenic it is! Our club is all about scenic, Ghost towns, and mining sites. We leave the rock crawling to Total Carnage Club. You are very welcome and I know you and your family will have fun. Hope to see you in Beatty!

Hey Randy, where was that photo taken? I think I'll have some rock sliders on before I think about trying that in the WJ.

An acquaintence of mine has a WJ w/sliders but otherwise stock. She's not afraid of rocks.
