Hey, I have just started the whole offroading experience, and I know I already love it. I just bought an 05 Rubicon that is the color of infamous Steel City, black and gold! I drove Jodi's orange jeep on the June Run. I had so much fun. I can't wait to get my jeep out.

I am a teacher here in Vegas and have only lived here for about a year and half. I am from Illinois, originally. I love extreme hobbies, but my favorite has always been scuba. I am currently a divemaster, going for my instructor sometime soon. That's me in a nutshell.

I will see you all around.
Lisa

Yeah, I told you all she was addicted!

Now we just have to get that Jeep in the dirt... for the first time in it's life! I know that will happen sooner rather than later, too! ...though it was kinda nice to ride in the passenger seat for once! :D

Jodi

Hey Lisa, Image to the board. I love your screen name...most scuba_____'s have snorkels on their Jeeps, so does that mean you'll be getting one for your new rig? Image
I guess for now, you'll be the real scuba... Image Whoops, wait...that's not...a...scu.... Image
Image We'll have to plan some SCUBA runs to Lake Mohave and do some shore dives out of a few coves I like to wheel to... Image Take the kayaks for those who want to go, but don't dive....Image
It may be fun!!! Image

Welcome. This is the best support group for your new addiction, at least if you don't want to quit. :D

I haven't been diving in 10 years.

Welcome Lisa to the back roaders and to so. NV as well.

Just an FYI ok ?

its Las Vegas to the locals not "vegas".

and remember the #1 snappy come back is "But its a Dry heat."

good luck on your Jeep.

it helps if you Just Empty Every Pocket right off.

I've been here all my life and I refer to it as Vegas. Well some of of the time. Most of the time I use Hell Hole, Scuzville, Las Vagrants. As well as other choice words not allowed on here.

I concur with Gary ! I've lived here over 19 years, and have been visiting since 1965.. 'Vegas has always been an accepted form of 'slang' for this place. I drive a cab and hear it from tourist all the time !! Lisa,, you can use it if you like, and we won't hold it against you,, trust me ! There are many other variations as Gary mentioned,, one that I abandoned years ago, "Lost Wages" !! I rarely gamble anymore !! Tim,, how long have you been in the 'Valley' ?? Phil

I refer to this city as "Vegas" and I've been here for nearly 9 years. Saying Las Vegas takes too much energy...Vegas is quick and easy.

I have to agree with Timmer. I was born in Las Vegas and I have always hated it when someone referred to it as "Vegas". :x

Then you you probably wouldn't like to hear what farmers & ranchers in White Pine and Lincoln County call it

 Sorry Shirley,,, I didn't know you felt that way... I guess that a "home town girl" would be a bit sensitive to "slang" of the implant's & tourists... I will respect your wishes and refrain from using the the term in your presence... Thanks for the 'heads-up' !! You are the best.. Keep on wheelin' !! Phil
