Hello, I have a 00 sport with 5 speed. I'm running a 2" backroader lift (rubicon stock spring and 2" spacers) 31" mud terrain tires open difs/3.73 gears and skid plates. My rig has been on most of this clubs harder fun runs. This setup and some experience will take you all the way to a 3.5 trail. Sometimes i drool over lifts and lockers but then again I feel a sense of accomplishment when I make it without them. Come out and play then decide what you want to be able to do, then build to that goal. We have rigs that cover many areas of offroading and drivers that love to talk about them.

Guys, really, posting the scariest pics in the welcome forum?

There are probably a few pics of my rig somewhere

JJ, there is a boat canvas shop in B.C. that may be able to help you.

Howdy & welcome.

I am pondering the same thing. I got the 33's and 3" lift on. I have 3.73's with a factory LS in the rear, open front.

I don't know if I want to build the Dana 35 or go to a 44.

The 3.73's are doing ok with the 33's (6-speed). I'm teatering between 4.10's & 4.56's.

Lockers, hummmmmmm.... so many choices, only one Jeep
The TrueTrac would be a low maintenance high reliability solution, especially for a daily driver.

decisions, decisions.

the boys wanted mud, and Harris springs is close to the NW where we were staging.
i had turned back 4 switchbacks pre JJ slide when my jeep started sliding, lunch box lockers and full mudders in mud are an interesting combo in snow.
when i heard the ominous, "totally dug in and against a tree" on the CB, i hiked up to see frog's jeep on the road and in snow to axles and JJ off the road.
there was a great response by rescue rangers Rubi Bob, Brad and Rex. decided to give up getting the jeep down by 9pm.
jeep was finally recovered the next night. Another wave of Rescue Rangers, not sure exactly who beside darrell, edwin, joe.
so, thats my story and i am sticking to it.
i just lead the guys up to Harris Springs, they get full credit for the rest of the story.
