Nevada Backroaders

Got to talking with Beth, and Rex and Shirley, and we decided to go up to Beatty on the 17th mid day. Maybe explore Rhyolite for the afternoon. Then stay a few days, probably go home sometime Tuesday.

We want to run Chloride City for sure on Sunday the 18th, then decide what to do on Monday. We might try to sneak Titus in. I'd like to try Phinney Canyon.

What ever we decide, we'll meet on Sunday and Monday at 08:30 and leave at 09:00 at the '76 Station on US 95.

I think Rex and Shirley have convinced a few of their friends (who knew they had friends!) to come along. All are welcome! Come all three days or just make a day trip out of it.

i've got most of the work done on my motorhome and only a couple more things to do on d.d. if i can get everything done i should be in beatty friday afternoon, i'm gonna check out some propery for sale. guess i should call the space station rv and make a reservation just in case they fill up. i can't wait until the death valley inn & rv park opens, i really liked staying at there when it was the burro inn. i'll let you guys know thursday nitgh if i'll make it or not.

those of us w/o road queens will be at stage coach casino in beautiful down town beatty.
plan on hitting road saturday to be in beatty bfore 12 noon, check in time.
when i go camping these days, i make reservations where there is a jacuzzi.

well d.d. has all new seals in the front axle so this trip will determine if the problem is solved or not. i couldn't get a space at the space station in town but managed to get a reservation at the beatty rv resort 3 miles north of town. so i should get out of vegas this afternoon and i'll meet everyone in beatty tomorrow.

thanks to tom and everyone else for convinceing me to get out of vegas for the weekend. i had a great time! sorry we didn't get to do phinney canyon on monday but the snow run over bare mountain loop was fun and probably safer. i'm beginning to get feeling back in my fingers and face. wish i'd have gotten a picture of that 36 foot motorhome we met on titus canyon but i was just too blown away to remember to grab the camera.

despite the weather, Beatty was a blast. guess we got to test just how much cold and wind we can take on Bear mtn.
the ice chunks whizzing past my head from the micro-wave tower convinced me to stay in the jeep.
met some other off-road folk in the hot tub, they mentioned Stripe Butte and "telephone" canyon as places to check out for future trips.
planning a trip if a map can be found with the trail.
getting out of vegas is necessary at least once a month or more for mental health days.
will post the next therapy session.
