OK I have been very busy lately and not had a chance to update this-
Here is the plan- may vary a bit - I always change things based on who goes and what peeps want to see/do - so speak up if you have any ideas.

Meet Friday 3/2/07 7:00am at the McDonalds/Chevron at 95 and Ann rd
Roll by 7:30
I / We we be camping at Mesquite Springs Campground -(as long as sites are available -its first come) Depending on time I would like to swing by the campground and reserve some spots before we venture off. Feel free to tent camp with us or stay at any of the Hotels in Beatty if your not a tenter.
Friday is open - i just want to head north to Eureka Sand Dunes - so the kids and play after the long drive- plus never been up that far north. Based on time we can stop by Scotty's castle and Ubehebe Crator or make the loop through steele pass and Saline valley road. Back up Lippencott road, pass the racetrack and back to camp.(That would be a very long day- so depends on time and what everyone wants to see)

Saturday - Club run through Titus -Check Club run post for more info
Meet at Rhyolite ghost town - 8:00am Roll by 9:00am

Sunday Meet at Stovepipe Wells 8:30am roll by 9:00am
Run through Marble Canyon/Cottonwood Canyon - If there is time I want to stop by the China Data Ranch on the way home.

For those that have camped with me before I like to make the food situation a bit easier for everyone so here is how i like to do it:
Everyone is responsible for their own lunch each day and thier own drinks
One family is responsible for a meal(dinner/breakfast) - I find that it requires me to pack less food and not so much planning on meals-however if someone commits and doesn't show it creates a problem so if you commit and can't make it please let someone know. Or if you are staying in a motel and chose not eat camp dinner let me know.

Dinner Friday night: I will make Tacos and Peach cobbler again- they turned out great last time
Breakfast Saturday Morning:
Dinner Saturday Night:
Breakfast Sunday Morning:

I need to know who wants what meal and plan for everything needed for that one meal- plates

Craig - I'll take one of the breakfast's for now. Either day it doesn't matter. I'll do pancakes, sausage, and eggs again. That also worked well. Just let me know what kind of a count you have so I can plan on how much food I need.

Thanks,
Al

I could bring and make burgers and dogs for Saturday night's dinner. I can't wait for Taco's and most of all, Peach Cobbler, yummy!!!

I'll bring my grill as usual, too. I think two grills should be good. We can cook more food, faster.

Anything else??

I got an email from Sunrunner (Steve) and he said he was going to make the camping on Friday. He also said he could do a breakfast. I just thought I would post this for him. When he gets the opportunity to post (since he's on the road), he will.

Concerning the food, don't worry about Brenda & I, we'll eat at the local restaurant Sat. morning and will be heading back to Las Vegas Sat Night. Sorry for not participating in the get-togethers for the meals, we're not anti-social, just like the comforts of hotels and restaurants. See ya all Saturday morning in Rhyolite.

Hey no problem - If you want to catch dinner or breakfast at a resturant then it's no big deal. I just found that it takes a burden off of you since you don't have to fix every meal and less food to pack.

Thanks for the post Joe. I finally found a good wireless connection.
Yeah I'll be able to do a breakfast, probably eggs and maybe carne asada. Who knows. I'm going to try getting into town on Thur so I can make the Fri morning drive up with everyone. If not I'll meet you asap. I might have 2 others in tow as well. See everyone there.

Yes, I remember. For anyone who was planning on taking their dogs on this trip, they are not allowed on backcountry byways (ie Trails) in any of our National Parks. Dogs are allowed on the paved portions of the roads and parking lots, but not in any buildings or trails. FYI

Don't do like I did last year where I worried about having my dog out on the trails. I had to hold Lincoln down last year when a Ranger stopped us. I was sweating that's for sure.

No worry this time, he's staying at home where he will be much more comfortable in his old age. He'll be 15 in May, if he makes it that long. :(

As far as I can tell it will just be me camping and food purposes. The other 2 might show up but they're on their own for food. Where is the camp site we'll be staying at? I'm not familiar with the locations in Beatty.
Hope to see you all next Fri.

Mesquite Springs campgroun is inside the park and south of Scotty's castle/ubhebe crater turn junction. If you check the map a few post above it is on there.
I believe the park entrance fee is $20 per vehicle and $12 a night per campsite at Mesquite Springs.
