Anybody interested in tagging along to Toroweap the weekend of April 8th -10th let me know. Come up for the day or stay overnight. If you have never been there you are missing the best views of the Grand Canyon.

I will be leaving Mesquite around 1-ish on the 8th and traveling mostly backcountry to get there. I can change the time if anybody wants to join me - just let me know so we can work out the time.

No takers yet, Craig??? If you go via Lime Kiln Canyon over to Mt. Trumbull, it will be an awesome run. The sights are beautiful and breathtaking to say the least. I didn't get any pictures at Toroweap the last time I was there. My camera went 419. So, I'd love to go again.

Brian Fenton and I went there years ago and camped there. Amazing spot and overlook. 80+ miles of dirt road to get there but worth it. Mt Trumbell school house is pretty cool.

We had a group a few years back that went in near Mesquite to Kelly Point, camped out...the next day moved eastward to Whitmore wash and camped there, then the third day drove to Toroweep and camped there, then headed to Colorado City for pavement. I carried 25 extra gallons of fuel and used all but 5 gallons which was brought back for me by one of our group earlier in our trip. We were on the trail for over 300 miles total. It was awesome!!! I agree, Toroweep has an awesome view of the canyon and I can't wait to go again!!

I found a few pictures of my trip to Toroweep. It's on my Flickr link below. (just getting it set up so it's pretty basic so far)

I am postponing this due to the cold front coming thru- Just don't want to deal with 30-45 degrees and rain. Would make for a boring trip if I had to sit in the tent all day and do nothing.

Will update as soon as I figure out a date.
Maybe 2 weeks April 22-24 or May 6-8th

Yeah, I really wanted to go, but those temps are just too unbearable if you're going to camp out in a tent. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the next attempt.
