Planning an overnight Camping run @ Eureka Dunes in Death Valley. If you have never been there - they are impressive.
Not sure of the full route just yet- need to do some more research. Wanted to put the date out there so if anybody is interested can plan.
I plan on heading out either Friday night or Saturday Morning - depending on who wants to go.
I will post an update this week on full plans and if anyone is interested post up a maybe/yes.

If camping at Eureka and you get bored and want to do some exploring, try:

http://www.gbr.4wdtrips.net/4x4/horsethief.html (easy, AWD doable)

http://www.gbr.4wdtrips.net/4x4/eureka2gilbert.html (easy, AWD doable)

http://www.gbr.4wdtrips.net/4x4/steelepass.html (relatively easy, but dry falls in DeDeckera Canyon might be too much for inexperienced or alone; doable in any stock vehicle with an off road package).

Marcus and I are in for the trip, Craig. Steve has plans but is interested in the other trip you are thinking about. I haven't heard from anyone else but there is time. I sent you a PM. I can't wait!!! It's been too long!!!

Cool - we will decide on meetup and what day we leave depending on who else goes. I am flexible and can leave Friday afternoon or Saturday AM. Will confirm plans by this weekend.

I would love to go, what is the trail going to be like? I can drive most of the NVBR trails, but, I've never been to Death Valley, I googled Eureka dunes and saw "high clearance car o.k.", if that is true I'd love to tag along in my 2wd Ford Ranger with BFG KM'2,s please let me Know.

All of the trails we will do will be Stock friendly - don't think you would even need 4x4. Can't drive on the sand dunes and we have straps and Joe has a winch if needed. Most likely will head down Steel pass which the obstacles will be small waterfalls and no problem going down. No worries!!

Mechanical failure leaves me city bound  I noticed a significant play in my steering, I don't know yet if it is the rack or tie rod ends, sorry, have fun and post pics.
