I’m back home from our Central Nevada exploring trip. Looking forward to exploring more in the North and East someday.
I crossed the Paradise, Shoshone, Toiyabe, Toquima, Monitor and Hot creek range(s). The nights we camped we stayed on top of the ranges. There was very little snow along the roads. The main roads are basic county roads for Nevada. Saw Big Horn, Prong horn, white trail, Red tail and elk, the Nevada high country is spectacular. I got a kick out of going to the Faultless nuclear explosion site
I never got a chance to see what the official ‘fire danger rating’ was, but I didn’t like the looks of the forest, so I didn’t have any campfires.
I’d like to add the Motel in Manhattan Nv is very nice. We did not see one person in Belmont and everything was closed, it’s still worth visiting. Gabbs is interesting, anyone here live in Gabbs?
Thanks GB and J&C for your input.
