Post subject:  Logandale with a 4x4 & a 2x4
So, finals will be over tonight, and I'm salivating at the chance to do some offroading. Specifically, I'm considering doing some exploring over in Logandale. However, before I do so, I'd like some advice.

Are the easy trails drivable with a duo of a 4x4 and a 2x4? I'll give specifics:

My 4x4: 2005 Toyota 4Runner.
The buddy's 2x4: 2005 Toyota 4Runner.

Yeah, we both have 2005's. Funny.

My past experience offroad enthusiast for ~ 10 years: Following trails in the foothills around southeast Idaho. Also, a few tail runs with the club. Until recently I owned a large green 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser. I've also owned and built up a 1985 Toyota 4Runner with a custom lift, 33" tires, etc. That vehicle is gone, too.

I'd like to explore the trails marked "easy" on the following two maps:

My usual offroading loadout:
*~5 gal water
*Tools (enough to take most anything on the vehicle apart)
*Factory repair manual
*D-ring
*tow spindle mount for D-ring
*30,000 lb tow strap
*5 quarts motor oil
*5 quarts transmission fluid
*1 quart gear oil
*electrical tape
*Cell phone
*12V/Cigarette cell phone charger
*Portable CB radio
*map of local area
*Air pump
*tire presure gauge
*Full size spare and factory replacement tools
*Bottles of water
*Fanny pack/backpack (for hiking out if necessary)
*Sleeping bag

I suppose I should add:
*shovel

What's your opinion? Are the easy trails doable with these two vehicles? Any advice would be appreciated.

You should be fine with a 4x4 on the easy trails [like the loop] but 2x4 will probably have some issues due to deep sand .

Well, we did it... Most of it anyway...

We followed most of the "A" trail loop, starting from point A, to H, I, J, L, and then almost to Q, as noted in the topographical map in the first post. Unfortunately, there were some steep shelves near Q. We could have gone down, taking damage along the way, but would never have been able to come back up. Seeing as it was a new trail, we turned around.

On a positive note, my friend's 2x4 performed much better than expected in the sand. The traction control works pretty well.

I finally scouted the Overton wash bypass/exit trail with the quad. I found one washout that was on a bad spot on the shelf making it impassable. the dirt bikes made a go around but I didn't even try it on the quad. with some fill in (rocks/sand) it would be ok till the next rain but not Club Run rated. There was another trail nearby I wanted to scout that the quads had made but ran out of daylight.

Is that near point "Q" in the topograhical map?

Specifically, it's this point (in google maps)

That's where the steep shelves were located... what I thought was part of the "A" or 'easy' loop.
