I am going to explore the American Flag Trail in the Kingman area on Saturday,October 25th. I have never been in this area but the trail goes up into the mountains and comes out close to Yucca, AZ.

The trail is closed on November 1st for the winter so this is the last chance to run it till next year. It is supposed to be a very scenic area. We will be meeting at the Cracker Barrel resturant in Kingman (on old highway 66) at 8:30am and roll at 9:00 am. The trail is supposed to take about 5 hours to complete.

I talked to a BLM lady in Kingman about the trail and she said it wasn't "too bad" unless there is a large rain. I hate to assume anything--however, having said that, I "assume" that a stock Jeep will be able to complete the trail.

My cell number is 702-281-8137

I'm in. Looking forward to this run.

I will leave that Saturday morning @ 6:30 am. Should give me plenty of time to arrive on time in Kingman.

I will be staying overnight more then likely somewhere Saturday nite after the run.

Lee: Are you thinking of the Flag Mine Trail that goes over Hualapai Mountain Park outside of Kingman?
The only American Flag trail I can find is outside of Oracle,Az

Frank,
It is the same trail your thinking about---my guide book calls it the American Flag trail but it is the trail there by Kingman.
I did a mapquest search on the Cracker Barrel resturant and I found out it isn't on old highway 66 as I thought but is located at 3520 Stockton Hill Road, exit 51 off of I-40.
According to mapquest you would go East on I-40 from Highway 93, take Exit 51 and go North for a short distance and the Cracker Barrel will be on your right hand side.

Flag Mine Road is a great trail. I did it several years ago. Be sure to make a stop at the Borianna Mine. Have fun.

if there isn't a lot of traffic at the dam, it shouldn't take more than a hour. but that's traveling 70-80mph

Being one of never wanting to be in a hurry and getting up early, would anyone be interested in a convoy anytime on 10/24, return 10/26 after breakfast/brunch?

Tom I travel to Phoenix many times a year, It usually only takes about an hour and half to get to Kingman. Dam traffic that early in the morning is usually good.

See ya Saturday.

Woo Hoo! I'm going to go on this one! Had to rearrange something from Sat to Sun. Have never been to the Cracker Barrel, not that familiar with the Kingman area, managed to miss the turn comming back to Vegas onto the 93 once and was keepin' on going on I40  Will mapquest. Would love to have breakfast there. Anyone up for a caravan there? Could meet at the Railroad Pass or somewhere in Boulder City. Chris
