Meet at Paiute Quik Stop on N95 after Kyle Canyon at Snow Mtn. exit by 9am, roll by 930.
Found a trail at 6000 ft elevation that runs by Macks Canyon behind The Sisters off of Lee canyon. Page 79 in Nevada Benchmark map book.
This is total exploration as I just saw trail as we drove up to Bristlecone Trail for the hike last Tuesday.
Bring lunch/water/sunscreen. If trail is a dud, we can take a vote for something/somewhere else.
Maybe we could get Brad to bring some mountain dew and cheese doodles for lunch......

I'd call in dead if I could.

but hey, I need to get a spare from Wiens, if they ever bother to order a rim for me.

HINT.

Hiked Macks Peak last year and if it's the road to the trailhead, it only goes back a couple miles. Very nice back there but won't take too long. Be carefull, there is a mountain lion that lives in the area. Found a very fresh kill while we were up there.

We were just talking about exploring up in that area to get out of the heat. I show a few trails up off Lee Canyon rd in the Mt Charleston area on my topos, and google earth. Looks like enough to fill a day or more worth of exploring....

So count me in.

a spare is a real good thing, as is the warranty you can purchase from Wien's Tire when you get your 5th tire.
i am the proud owner of a 3rd replacement of sidewall carnage or stupidity.
made a call from the Super 8 parking lot in Moab when i discovered the 2nd divot and had the tire replaced on the day after i got back to town. the first casualty was an airborne maneuver which was stupid. not aired down and i Daisy Duked it up a rock following jj.......
still had stock gears then.
Plan on exploring whatever trails we can if Mack's is short and sweet.
how about keeping the four legged ones close or on leashes? a big cat could make some real fine eating on a well fed canine companion.

back Home our neighbors big male wegie, who was well know for often bringing grey squirels and the odd possum home, was caught one day feasting on a yorkie pup.

so I can imagine what a cougar would do with a few yapandwhiners roaming around loose.
