ok, here's the deal, the clark mtn trip was set up for mac and he has to work so rather then run it and then run it again when mac is ready i'm going to do something else. the day will be the same, monday the 3rd, as will the meeting place, whisky pete's in primm next to the gas station, and the meet time of 0800 and roll by 0830 stands. now this is where the day changes, we'll run a section of the old ivanpah road up and around kokoweef mtn visiting several old mines and working our way over to riley's camp. if you haven't been to riley's camp it's a must see spot int he mojave national preserve. the day will end at cima road and the I15 which is where the other trip would have ended. it'll be a full day on the trail so bring the usual lunch and beverages. if you have any questions give me a call at 702-497-9154. 8)

Hey Brad,

Is this trail OK for lightly modified? I would love to go along. Should I bring membership dues etc? Looking forward to meeting you and JeepinJoe also.

Thanks,

Travis

This is a great pick for a first run.
Brad is leading so you are safe. He is a loved trail leader and has mentored many leaders in this group.

Also DD is a YJ with 2 or 2.5" lift and 32" tires with lockers and has done 4+ rated trails  . So check it out and ask questions.

gee justin, i don't know what to say. i hope i can live up to your glowing testimony but you know i'm bound to make at least one wrong turn on this trail. :) travis, the last time i ran this trail it was 100% stock friendly, mostly graded roads, with one fun "offroad" section. it rated no more then a level 2. however, we've had some pretty good rains in this section of the mojave since so we could run into some washouts. mostly i like this run because of the views and history. because this isn't an official club run anyone is welcome and i'll be able to answer your questions about the club and you can decide if the backroaders are what you're looking for.

I LOVE Kokoweef AND Riley's camp. I don't mind then switch. And Justin is right: Brad is the best. Me and The Idget will be there!

I'm still free on the 3rd of March, so count me in. Looks like one of my co-workers will be riding shotgun too, so I get to introduce a newbie to off-roading.

I would like to say "Thank You" to Brad for this run. As my first time with the club, it was a fantastic way to learn that you guys are GREAT!! Tom, Frog, Brad, you guys were all willing to listen to my stupid questions, give great advice, and at the same time, Paula and I had a chance to learn a LOT about the area, the club, and the people in it.

Once again, Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

Travis (and Paula)

Brad,

Excellent job and very instructional. Unfortunately I think I missed the "test" at the end of the run while I was answering nature's call. Had a great deal of fun and got some good photos. I'll have them posted by tomorrow after I get back from wheelin again with Beth.

Travis, Paula,

It was great getting to meet you, and I'm always around to answer any questions you might have about mods. If I don't know the answer personally, I'm sure I can refer you to a few who might. Thanks again for the mirror brackets and the nylon "oh shit" handles. If you stumble across anything else you might have up for grabs, let me know. :) I'll keep you posted on when I'm ready to install the electrical and pump upgrades for the hardtop.

Ok, here are the links to my latest photo additions/editions:
