Since the Club run on 3/15 is based out of Searchlight, some of us have decided to have a campout at Smudgen's Campground & RV Resort. Like normal, dinner on Saturday is potluck (bring your favorite thing to BBQ and a side dish or dessert to share). Sunday morning will have our standard community breakfast.

All RV's, trailers and tents are welcome to join us. Be advised, there is no electric or water hookups. Plan accordingly.

Any questions, feel free to call me. 453-2358 (early evenings).

I'm pretty sure that I'll be joining you all, but someone has to let the newbie in on the Smudgen's Campground & RV Resort reference. Is there a map to this alleged "campground"? My only concern is restroom facilities. When I camp solo, it's not a big deal. It's not quite so simple when other folks are around. How big are the bushes out there?

Joanne

Joanne, Smudgeons is actually a open spot off the Nipton Rd about 6 mi out of Searchlight. There are not a lot of bushes, there is an old tin building (with lots of holes shot thru it). It is also in a Joshua tree field. It is far enough off the Nipton rd that it is not seen very easily - one really has to be looking for it. Bob and a few others are spending the weekend at the races so you might not get very may answers this weekend. If you want I can PM you my phone number. You will have a great time if you decide to come along. Chris.

Hi all,

It looks like my plans have changed and I won't be able to join you all for the camp-out. My brother unexpected dropped into town and I would like to spend some time with him.

I'm still going to try to make the Saturday run, but just not spend the weekend. Dang...

Joanne

We will be out probably friday night, packing the tent.
We will try to mark the turn well enough to find it easily.
Even if you do not stay the night you can join in for the standard grill your own critter and potluck side type dinner we have on these outings.
Any requests for the dutch oven?

:? ok, I think I still have one bundle of wood in the garage a can of corned beef hash and eggs. Could do another pinapple cake in the DO.
Also have an Idea about marking camp so everyone can find it.

Do you have the GPS for it as well?
