plan on exploring Sand Mine Siding. Mitchells' run #6 in the Great Basin Trails #1.
will meet at truck stop at 10 am for breakfast and then head out up to Moapa and out thru Valley of fire to Old St Thomas Road. Will check out out if the lake has uncovered the town enough to make it interesting.
May check out Logandale if time permits.
Weather is perfect for exploring and the rain last night/am will keep the dust down as it might be MUD.
Call my cell, 286-3873 if running late.

hey mike,
when you do get back to town, run up to valley of fire as the rain has made the rocks color outstanding.
frog, jj and myself wandered thru the valley of fire entrance to the lake.
the ranger at the fee station recommended white domes. she was right.
park rangers usually tell you what you can't do, so we added another couple of miles to the trip.
st thomas had nice views, yet way too cold and windy for exploring. rain was also intermittent.
sand mine was short, sweet. too short, so we added some roads toward the boon-dockers camp plateau.
you could see "there-goes-the-neighborhood" looks so we went to Sugar's for chicken fried steak lunch and called it good.
hope you can make it next time.

I always enjoy looking around Lake Mead.

next time we're out that way I wanna hit the Arizona side and explore over there.
