Planning on a thursday the 13th run to Tecopah Hot Springs, the China Ranch and either Deadman's Pass or Gold Valley depending on time spent in the 100' pools in Tecopah.
Run is in Mitchell's Death Valley Suv Trails.
Meet at Rainbow and Blue Diamond at 0900 and roll after egg mcmuffins and coffee.
Lunch can be in Shoshone at the local's Crow Bar or al fresco at Date Ranch.
Bring your own towel.

Beth,
Does this trip require 4wd and high clearance? Thought I might drive my pickup instead of my Jeep since it is quite a distance.

Deadman's Pass is listed as a 2 by Mitchell. Mormon Well or old frieght road. The length is abput 14 miles, once you get to Shoshone. The guide book also mentions some soft sandy parts of road. There are other forks in the road, yet if time is a consideration we could keep to the main plan and explore on another day.
Gold Valley is a longer trail, 30 miles one way from Shoshone. Listed as a 2 with some class 3, Mitchell's 3 looks like some wash outs with sections like Wheeler Pass.
Again, time can be tailored to the person who has a consideration to meet.
This is all guess-timates from the postage stamp pix in guide book.
So, if time is a consideration can keep trip shorter.
Vehicle would depend on road conditions and if truck is a mall queen SUV or a work truck.
I am driving the jeep as there is options for exploring the road less traveled.
The area has some neat geology and the wide-open spaces only found in the desert off the beaten path.
